I sell my birds into loving homes only - I won't sell to re-sellers or third parties. If you are buying a bird as a gift please consider bringing the person that will care for the bird when you pick out your baby :)
I do NOT sell un-weaned babies - no exceptions! And I will keep my babies a few weeks after they are weaned to make sure they are eating well before re-homing.
Birds don't make the best pets for children under 5 years of age. I raised two children myself and speak from personal experience :)
All my birds come from exhibition/ show lines - these birds are slightly bigger and robust that your average pet store bird- with larger crowns - they are fed only the best food and socialized extensively!
Price list:
Many people want to know why hand-fed birds are so expensive ... Cockatiel babies are not like puppies or kittens who eat independently after only a month with the parents. Hand feeding birds requires warming special formula and feeding at least 5-6 times a day to start with with a syringe - more feedings for younger and less for older chicks. . Handfeeding alone does not make a bird tame. Play time/ handling does.. I spend many hours each day with the babies and hold them, get them used to being cuddled ...
It takes an average of 170 feedings for the average, healthy , hand-fed chick until it is weaned. At the very minimum 45 hours invested into this bird- in many cases much more than that. It is a labor of love and very time intensive!
Baby cockatiels: 200-300 for tame, hand-fed babies - a discount is given for adopting two cockatiels together, pricing depends on mutation and pet/show quality
Adult pairs, not or only semi tame ( older than 3 or 4) : starting at $200 and varies greatly
Adult single birds ( might not be handtame anymore or need work) $100 and up depending on age
Rescue birds , disabled ..only special homes will be considered on a case by case base
I offer DNA tests through avian biotech - a feather analysis costs about $25 and will offer a 98.9% certainty regarding gender. This fee is for one test - please be aware that you might have to test several birds to find a baby with the desired gender.
With some birds I can tell gender by color fur to genetics but with most babies I cannot guarantee gender .
I do no longer allow random visits to my aviary due to Covid - please understand that we have high risk family members and I cannot allow groups of people over. I will gladly send videos of babies or birds or set up a chat, video call ... I also offer a virtual tour of my aviary ! Unfortunately due to a bird shortage nationwide I have to be exceptionally vigilant to make sure my birds end up in loving homes and not sold for profit . Or even get stolen. Until further notice I will run a closed aviary to protect both my family and my birds!
I only accept cash at this time!
I give discounts if your buy more than one bird- cockatiels are happiest in pairs or groups - if you buy one bird from me the second one is sold at a discount! I am doing this to encourage people to get two cockatiels instead of a single bird. I do not give discounts if you intend to give your second bird to a friend! Cockatiels are happiest in pairs or groups.
I give priority to people adopting two brids from me OR a second bird for their single companion bird
If you are interested in a baby from us please contact me . I have wait lists throughout the year and will contact people on my wait list before listing birds on this website . I take non refundable deposits of $50 when babies are about 6 weeks of age ( around a month before they are ready to leave) which is applied towards the total price. I include a package of bird seed/ food/supplements with the babies as well as a care sheet and some extra goodies. I can provide references from previous adopters , the National Cockatiel Society and my local vet.
